Home Starter

Keeps lights, WiFi & fridge on for ~3–5 hrs

Starter Hybrid 3 kW

First-time backup for the essentials — lights, TV, WiFi, and refrigeration basics.

Budgetary range

KSh 180,000 – KSh 325,000

3 kW inverter · 2.5 kWh lithium

  • Hybrid inverter baseline
  • Battery-backed essential circuits
  • Good starting point for a first solar project

Home Premium

Full home backup including pumps & A/C for ~6–12 hrs

Premium Hybrid 8 kW

Larger homes needing longer backup windows, pump support, and appliance headroom.

Budgetary range

KSh 470,000 – KSh 820,000

8 kW inverter · 10 kWh lithium

  • Extended backup for the whole house
  • Handles pumps, A/C, and high-demand loads
  • Good fit for villas and larger homes

SME / Office

Office continuity for ~4–8 hrs on prioritized loads

SME Hybrid 10 kW Baseline

Budgetary starting point for office and small commercial backup before site-specific load review.

Budgetary range

KSh 720,000 – KSh 1,370,000

10 kW baseline · 15 kWh lithium

  • Office continuity planning baseline
  • Covers lighting, computers, CCTV & server room
  • Supports staged load priorities

Facilities & Institutions

3-Phase & Large-Scale Projects

For factories, schools, clinics, and multi-building sites. These projects require a full engineering scope review, 3-phase load analysis, and a formal Bill of Quantities — no fixed kit price applies until after a site survey.

  • 3-phase scoping — not a fixed kit
  • Requires site survey and engineered BoQ before any pricing is confirmed
  • Indicative baseline: KSh 1,200,000 – KSh 2,400,000+ depending on scope

Customize Your Estimate

Start from a plan above or build from scratch. In Simple mode, just pick what you need — we handle the technical sizing. Switch to Advanced if you want to adjust the inverter, battery, or add-ons yourself.

Simple mode auto-sizes technical settings. Switch to Advanced for manual inverter, battery, and extras.

What matters most? Balanced

Default uses EPRA domestic retail reference (~KSh 28.7/kWh). Adjust to your actual tariff.

Daytime Usage Medium

Used only for a budgetary bill-offset estimate. Final savings depend on tariff, usage timing, and site design.

Estimated Battery Runtime (without solar contribution)

How runtime is estimated

Runtime is estimated from the selected battery size and the profile shown above using duty-adjusted average and busy-use load assumptions, bounded by the selected inverter output.

For SME and institution profiles, the calculator applies diversity/concurrency assumptions so it does not treat all listed categories as running at the same time.

Battery Basics · Battery Lifespan & Cycle Life

Battery-only runtime estimate for the selected priority-load profile.

Battery-only estimate for the selected profile above. Lower value assumes busier simultaneous use; higher value assumes duty-cycled/typical use. Daytime solar contribution can extend runtime.

Enter your average monthly electricity bill and daytime usage to estimate bill-offset savings for the selected solar system.

Budgetary estimate only. Final savings depend on tariff, daytime self-consumption, shading, roof orientation, inverter settings, and the final engineered design.

*Estimate only. Final BoQ confirmed after site survey.

Final price depends on site-confirmed scope such as roof layout/structure, cable or pipe run lengths, DB and grounding/protection upgrades, access complexity, and the selected equipment capacity/brand tier. This is why the calculator shows a budgetary range rather than one fixed figure.

Typical proposal turnaround: 24–48 business hours after survey.

Questions Buyers Usually Ask Before a Survey

Short answers for budget planning. Technical definitions and deeper explanations are linked in the Learning Center.

How accurate is the estimate before a site survey?

This page gives a budgetary range based on your selected plan or calculator inputs. Final pricing is confirmed after a site survey, load review, and BoQ. See System Sizing 101, the project timeline guide, and the Engineering-led Sizing FAQ note.

What usually changes the final quote after survey?

Roof structure, cable run lengths, DB condition, grounding requirements, plumbing rework (for water heating), and access constraints can change scope and final cost. Related reading: DB Split & Essential Loads Planning, Solar Water Heating Sizing Basics, and Surge Protection & Protection Scope.

Is financing available?

Financing availability depends on partner programs and current lender terms. We confirm options, deposit requirements, and repayment tenure during proposal and partner-lender review. Read Financing & Payment Planning Basics for what to prepare before requesting financing options.

Does the estimate include installation and protection components?

The estimate is designed as a practical starting range and can include common extras through the calculator (for example DB upgrades, surge protection, monitoring, and maintenance options). Final inclusions are listed in your BoQ. See the Detailed BoQ & Proposal FAQ, SLD FAQ, and Surge Protection FAQ.

How long does a proposal take after the survey?

Typical proposal turnaround is 24–48 business hours after the site survey for standard projects. Complex or institutional sites may need additional engineering review. See the installation timeline guide and Handover Pack Explained for how proposal, engineering review, and delivery documentation fit together.
