EDP, EDT and parfum explained

The concentration label helps describe a perfume format, but it does not tell the entire performance story. Here is the useful way to compare the terms on a product page.

Eau de toilette (EDT)

EDT versions often emphasise freshness and an energetic opening. They can work well for daytime wear, warm conditions and people who prefer a lighter presence.

Eau de parfum (EDP)

EDP is a common format across designer and Arabian collections. It often feels fuller than an EDT, although two differently formulated fragrances cannot be ranked by label alone.

Parfum and extrait

Parfum and extrait formats are generally positioned as more concentrated expressions. Apply deliberately and judge the scent on skin over time before deciding how much to wear.
